LITCHFIELD, NH - Richard Parr, Jr., 63, a resident of Litchfield, NH, died Saturday January 6th at Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center in Nashua after a brief illness. He was the longtime companion of Nancy Fligg of Litchfield, NH.
Richard was born in Melrose, MA on May 14, 1943, and was a son of Lois (Ring) Parr of Wakefield, MA and the late Richard Parr Sr.. He received his education in Wakefield schools and was a graduate of Wakefield High School class of 1961. Richard was also a graduate of Franklin Institute in Boston.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Parr was employed as an electronics technician by DTC in Nashua, NH. Previous to that was employed by PTS in Littleton, MA. Earlier in his career he was the owner of Parr-Crest Radio and TV Service in Wakefield, MA. Richard was also a former call firefighter for the town of Wakefield, MA.
In his free time Richard enjoyed remote control airplanes, model railroading, traveling, and was always looking for new adventures. He was also a licensed Ham Radio operator.
In addition to his mother and companion, Richard is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Colleen of Dracut, two grandchildren Emily and Kelsey Parr, also of Dracut, a brother David L. Parr and his wife Sheila of Wakefield; a sister Sheila Jean and her husband Albert of Londonderry, NH; close friends Brian and Lynn Fligg of Fitchburg, and Christina Fligg, and Paul Andrews, both of Nashua.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Tuesday from 4 until 8pm. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE PRIVATE. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the The Leary Firefighters Foundation, 594 Broadway Suite #409, New York, NY 10012.
