Obituary

John Taber, 77, of Fairhaven died January 5, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
He was the husband of the late Dorothy E. (Timm) Taber.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Albino and Mary (Cabral) Taber, he lived in Fairhaven all of his life.
Mr. Taber was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett.
He was formerly employed by Revere Copper and Brass for 34 years until his retirement.
Mr. Taber served in the U.S. Navy.
An avid vegetable and flower gardener, he was a jack of all trades who enjoyed music and traveling to Las Vegas.
Survivors include 2 sons, Carl W. Taber, and his wife Natalie, of Mattapoisett and Steven W. Taber, and his wife Rene, of Milton; 2 sisters, Dorothy Kennedy of Orleans and Elsie Cecil of Acushnet; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Bailey, Timothy Taber, Eleanor Taber and Olivia Taber; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett Monday, January 8th at 9 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday, January 7th from 2-5 PM.
