Robert A. Quilitzsch, 50, of Johnston, died Sunday at his home.
Born in Providence, he was a son of (the late) George and Anita (Mintel) Quilitzsch.
He had been a resident of Johnston and had previously lived in Cranston.
He had been a graduate from Providence College, class of 1978. He was a pharmaceutical salesman beginning with the Upjohn Company and then with GlaxoSmithKline Corporation.
He won the President’s Club award 7 times in his career with GSK. He was chosen to be a Pharmaceutical Sales Trainer to develop new sales representatives and work on innovative projects in Raleigh Durham, NC.
He was a member of the St. Andrew’s Lodge of Masons, Riverside and a Shriner. A member of the RI Pharmaceutical Assn, RI Society of Hospital Pharmacists, Traveling Men’s Assn.and the Beagle Club of Cumberland. He was Past Treasurer and Board of Director of the Deer Park Homeowner’s Assn. Lincoln, NH. He was a graduate of the URI Master Gardner program and recently became a Certified Research Associate. He served on the Financial Board of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Bob enjoyed sking, golf, sailing, fishing, gardening and scuba diving.
His family and friends will remember Bob for his incredible intelligence, dry wit and sense of humor, and his caring, kind and compassionate demeanor. He is survived by a sister, Carol Ellis of Cumberland, a brother, William Quilitzsch and his wife Beverly of Johnston and many nieces and nephews. Former husband of Paula Chappell.
Funeral Thursday at 10am from the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Funeral Service at 11am in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 54 Cedar Swamp Road, Smithfield. Visitation Wednesday 4-8pm. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the RI Shrine Center, 1 Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI 02905.
