Adelman W. "Deli" Norton, 72, of Dartmouth died Monday January 1, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Bernice (Castellina) Norton.
Born in Vinalhaven, Maine, the son of the late Charles E. and Helen D. (Steneman) Norton, he lived in the New Bedford area for the past 40 years.
Mr. Norton was formerly employed as a fisherman out of the Port of New Bedford for many years until his retirement.
He was a member of the New Bedford Fishermen's Union.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Timothy Norton of Connecticut; two stepsons, Russell Hiksdal and his companion Susan Correia and John LeBert and his wife Lorraine, of Dartmouth; two grandchildren, Krystle and John LeBert Jr.; and several brothers and sisters in Maine.
His Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM in the Seamen's Bethel, 15 Johnny Cake Hill, New Bedford. Visiting hours are omitted. Private burial will be in South Dartmouth Cemetery. For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
