WORCESTER-Dorothy V. (Blomquist) Johnson, 90, of Worcester, died Sunday, December 31 at UMass Memorial Healthcare.
Her husband Roy C. Johnson predeceased her in 1987. She leaves two sons, Roy C., and his wife Beth Johnson of Dallas, TX and Alan A., and his wife Lynn Johnson of Lock Port, NY; a daughter, Marlene L. and her husband, Robert Ekstrand of Worcester, four grandchildren, a great granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Andrew E. and Aliina R. (Jarvimaki) Blomquist and graduated from Commerce High School and attended Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Dorothy was a mortgage supervisor at Worcester Five Cents Savings and Consumer Savings Banks. Dorothy is a member of the Stella Chapter of the Eastern Star and was a former Matron of the Clement Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a former member of Quinsigamond United Methodist Church.
The funeral will be Thursday, January 4 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 34 Prospect St., Shrewsbury. Interment will be in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, Jan 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
