Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Raymond F. Tremlett, Jr., age 73, a resident of Tewksbury for 32 years, died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at home, following a short illness.
He was the husband of Joan M. (McLaughlin) Tremlett, with whom he celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on August 29th.
Born in Boston on August 31, 1933, he was the son of the late Raymond F. and Cecily (Dunn) Tremlett.
Mr. Tremlett was raised in the Dorchester area of Boston.
He attended Dorchester schools and was graduated from Boston English High School in 1951.
In 1952, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean Conflict.
Following his honorable discharge from active duty, he attended Curry College, where he received his degree in business administration.
Prior to his retirement in 1996, he was employed for 40 years as a sub-contract workmen’s compensation auditor for various area insurance companies.
Mr. Tremlett resided in South Boston until moving to Tewksbury in 1974.
He was a communicant of St. William’s Church of Tewksbury.
Mr. Tremlett was a member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks # 2070 and the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Francis Coppens Council # 4336 of Tewksbury.
According to his family he was an avid golfer. In addition he enjoyed watching professional, college, high school and youth sports.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons; Raymond F. Tremlett, III and his friend Shari Stephen of Londonderry, NH, Douglas J. Tremlett and his wife Barb (Seago) of Nashua, NH, Scott D. Tremlett and his wife Heidi (Popp) of Pittsfield and Patrick J. “Boo” Tremlett and his wife Stephanie (O’Brien) of Woburn; ten grandchildren; Raymond F. Tremlett, IV, Amanda M., Cassandra L., Keith R., Rachael L., Liam S., Lauren M., Kelsey R., Sean P. and Morgan L. Tremlett; one sister; Cecily M. Tremlett of Weymouth.
Calling hours Wednesday, Jan. 3rd, 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Thursday, Jan. 4th, 8:30 a.m., from the funeral home. Funeral Mass Thursday, 9:30 a.m., at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at 12 p.m. at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., # 9, Lawrence, MA 01843 are requested.
