Obituary

James Willard Burbine Sr., passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home in Stonington on December 28th, just 11 days before his 65th birthday.

He was born January 8, 1942 to James Bradford Burbine and Doris (Fauquet) Burbine of Noank, CT. He was raised with, and will be sadly missed by his five siblings; Beverly McNeill of Randolph Ctr., VT, Barbara Keenan of Ft. Meyers, FL, Bradford Burbine of Vacaville, CA, Ronald Burbine of So. Royalton, VT, and Theodore Burbine of Mt. Shasta, CA.

Mr. Burbine worked as a chemical operator for Pfizer for 30 years before he retired in 1999.

In addition to his siblings, he is survived by and will be sadly missed by his wife of 37 years, Cecelia Janice Burbine; his 5 children, Laurie Ann Elvin and James Willard Burbine Jr., both of No. Stonington, Lynette Renee McGill of Hopkinton, RI, Joshua Wayne Burbine and Lisa Marie Burbine, both of Stonington; 5 grandchildren, James Robert Dick IV, Jonathan Ryan Dick, Russell Edward McGill, Cody Alan Elvin, and Trenton James Burbine.

His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, East Main St., Mystic on Friday at 10am. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
