James M. (Mike Jimmy) O’Halloran died on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at his home in Charlestown. He was 82 years old.
James was born in Boston on May 6, 1924. He was a long time Townie, true Irishman and devoted father and grandfather. James was a retired member of the Port Watchmen’s Union, Local No. 1451.
James is the devoted husband of Margaret “Margie” (Beck) O’Halloran. He is the loving father of Margaret A. “Peggy” and Bob Moody of West Medford, Patricia O’Halloran and Ray McManus of West Somerville, Michael O’Halloran and Valerie Murphy of Charlestown, and Noreen and Billy Hasson of Milton. James is the adored Pa of John, Paul and Kevin Moody, Katelyn, Bridget and Erica Hasson and Sean O’Halloran. He is the loving brother of John O’Halloran of Charlestown, Francis O’Halloran of Woburn, Mary Gallagher of Charlestown and the late William and Edward O’Halloran. He is the brother-in-law of Mary Doherty of Dorchester and Edith Brown of Revere. James is also survived by his many nieces and nephews as well as their families.
James Funeral will be held from the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, on Tuesday, January 2, 2006, at 9:00 a.m. followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Catherine’s Church, Vine Street, Charlestown, at 10:00 a.m.. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for James will be held on Monday, January 1, 2006, from 3 – 7 p.m. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, Malden..
