Nora Mae Davis Barton Jackson, 93, of Butler, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at Taylor County Health Care in Butler. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2006, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Elder Gaston Barton and Elder David Barton will officiate with burial to follow in Springhill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Cook County. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Jackson was born on November 17, 1913 in Turner County and was the daughter of John Davis and Alice Mayhew Davis, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Elton Barton; her second husband, Floyd Jackson; and eight brothers and sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Tifton.
Ms. Jackson is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Gaston E. and Miriam Barton of Tifton, Melvin and Betty and Barton of Albany, and David and Gwen Barton of Talbotton; one brother, Frank Davis of Dekalb County; two sisters, Evelyn Moore of Gwinnett County and Annie Lou Roberson of Lawrenceville; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
