Mrs. Violet A. Nobile, age 81, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of Sunday December 24, 2006 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital while recovering from a recent stroke.
She was born in Gilman, VT on January 16, 1925 the daughter of Arthur and Alberta (LaValley) Lavature. Violet worked at the Waumbek Country Club in Jefferson, NH. She moved to Connecticut and worked for the Pratt Whitney Plant where she met Nicholas J. Nobile who later became her husband. They started a family in Hartford, CT and then in 1965 moved to Southern California where she worked for a brief time as a head hostess at the Eltoro Marine Base officers club. In 1992, Violet, Nicholas, and their youngest son Paul, moved to Lunenburg, VT. She then worked at Littleton Coin, PAC 2000 and then JC Penney's in St. Johnsbury, VT. Nicholas passed away on February 14, 1996. In 2000, Violet moved to Berlin, NH to live with her youngest son Paul, and daughter-in-law Brenda. She transferred her employment to the JC Penney store in Berlin. She later retired and became a homemaker.
Violet is survived by her sons Michael J. Nobile and his wife Robin, Peter C. Nobile and his wife Karilyn and Paul N. Nobile and his wife Brenda; her daughter Nancy L. (Nobile) Reich and her companion Mike. She also had 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She valued and enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial calling hours will be held at the Bryant Funeral Home 180 Hillside Avenue Berlin, NH on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from 4 to 7 PM. A final memorial gathering will be held for family and friends at the home of Peter and Karilyn Nobile in Lunenburg, VT on Saturday, January 6th from 2 to 6 PM.
