Obituary

Wilfred J. Nadeau, 82, formerly of Lake Washington Drive, Glocester, an electrician before retiring, died Friday, at the Providence VA Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Lillian M. (Dionne) Nadeau.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Alfred & Eva (Guertin) Nadeau. He had been a resident of Glocester since 1976. He had previously lived in Cranston.

Mr. Nadeau was a self-employed electrician, He founded WJ Nadeau & Sons Electrical Contractors. He had worked for Carroll Electric. He was an instructor at William Davies Vocational High School and Central High School Vocational in Providence. He was a WWII Navy Veteran.

Mr. Nadeau is survived by two daughters Joan M. Hird of Glocester, Leah M. Namake of Cranston, two sons, Donald A. Nadeau of Melrose, MA, Robert E. Nadeau of Glocester, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and siblings Richard Nadeau and Evelyn Nadeau both of North Providence.

Mr. Nadeau was passionately involved in RI Drum and Bugle Corps activities, founding two state champion drum corps: St. Ann’s Drum and Bugle Corps, and the Regal Crownsmen. He was a past president of the Rhode Island Drum and Bugle Corps Association.

Mr. Nadeau was also a past president of the Glocester Senior Citizens Association and the Lake Washington Association.

Funeral Wednesday at 9am from the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Eugene's Church, Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Burial with military honors in RI Veteran’s Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 5-7pm.
