New Bedford – Viola E. (Westgate) Perry, 85, of E. Freetown died December 23, 2006 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the widow of Charles J. Perry.
Mrs. Perry was born in E. Freetown, daughter of the late Charles I. and Pearl E. (Westgate) Westgate, and was a lifelong resident of the town. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting, and most of all spending time with her family.
Survivors include 3 daughters: Sally Dobson, Kathy Moniz and Vickie Souto all of New Bedford; 3 sisters: Virginia Westgate of Pocassett, RI, Julia Pittsley of E. Freetown and Marion Place of E. Freetown; 4 brothers: George Westgate, Daniel Westgate, Charles Westgate and Gerald Westgate all of E. Freetown; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-granddaughter and several nieces & nephews.
She was mother of the late Charles Perry, Jr. and Larry Perry and sister of the late Barbara Clark.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family at 171 Frederick Street, New Bedford, MA 02744 to be used according to their wishes.
