Brother of Angela Jackson of VA. Nephew of Evelyn Craft of TN and cousin of Angeline Poe of VA. He is survived by several grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
Memorial Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 12 noon. Visitation 11 to 12 noon. Burial at a later date in Jackson, TN. Obituary
Leobie “Lee” Jackson died Thursday morning at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Jackson, Tennessee, a son of the late Leobie and Georgia Ruth (Sims) Jackson. He has been a resident of Brockton for the past 25 years, a graduate of Merry High School in Jackson, Tennessee and received his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Organizational Behavior from Lesley College. During the Vietnam conflict he served in the US Army. At the time of his illness he was a realtor at Berlus Realty in Brockton for the past 3 years. Mr. Jackson will be remembered as being politically active in the city of Brockton. He had been a candidate for City Councilor and Councilor at Large and had also been very involved with the Brockton Public Library. He was a member, past president and a volunteer of the Library Foundation. Mr. Jackson enjoyed studying astronomy.
He is survived by his devoted companion, Irma Berlus of Brockton, two daughters, Hilda Shead of Chicago and Jamilie Dowman of TN., a sister Angela Jackson of VA., his aunt Evelyn Craft of TN., a cousin Angeline Poe of VA. and several others cousins and his several grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
