Obituary

Alexander Pizzanello, 77 of Blackstone and formerly of Franklin died December 21 in his home. He was the husband of Pauline (Talamini) Pizzanello.

Born in Franklin, February 6, 1929, the son of the late Anthony and Concetta (Pisani) Pizzanello, Mr. Pizzanello had lived in Franklin for all of his life until moving to Blackstone last year.

He had been the carpenter foreman at Wrentham State School for over thirty years before retiring. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Corporal.

Mr. Pizzanello was an avid saltwater fisherman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Dianne Dumas and her husband, John of Blackstone and his son, Steven Pizzanello and his companion, Carole Caplan of Evanston Ill and his grandchildren, Ashley, Elana, Max, and Rose.

He was the brother of the late Eugene Pizzanello.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, December 23 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main St. in Franklin at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St .Mary’s Church, Church Square, at 11:30. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Friday from 6-9 p.m.
