Edna D. (Mason) Bennett of Medford, formerly of Lexington and Arlington, died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, following a brief illness. Edna was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Bennett. She was 89 years old.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on May 2, 1917, she was the loving daughter of the late Thomas R. and Mary D. (Barbarito) Mason. Mrs. Bennett was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Lexington. Edna was a loving mother and wife, spending her entire life caring for her home and family.
She was the loving mother of Thomas R. Bennett and his wife Betsy K. Mathews of Medford and the late Paul R. Bennett. Devoted aunt of Barbara Peacock Coady of Wellesley, Edna McLellan of New Ipswich, N.H. and the late Jane M. Panos. Dear friend of Terence Kenney and his family of Woburn.
Her funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday, December 22, 2006, at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Follen Road, Lexington, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were held Thursday, December 21, 2006, from 6 to 8 PM. Interment was private.
