Obituary

Paul A. Miller, 67, of Dartmouth died Tuesday October 1, 2002 unexpectedly at home. He was the husband of Geraldine A. (Sherman) Miller, and son of Irene (Roberts) Miller of New Bedford and the late Joseph T. Miller.

Mr. Miller was born and raised in New Bedford and had moved to Dartmouth 30 years ago. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and attended New Bedford Textile Institute.

Mr. Miller was formerly employed as a fish lumper on the New Bedford waterfront until his retirement.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, and was a recipient of the National Defense medal and the Good Conduct medal.He was a member of Fish Lumpers Union Local 1749 and a member of Quitticus Lodge A.F.& A.M., and was president of the Horseshoe League in Naples, Florida.

Survivors include his wife; his mother; a son, Thomas J. Miller of Seekonk; a sister, Marsha Crowe of Lancaster, Penn.; 2 grandchildren, Ashley Miller and Jessica Miller; a niece and 2 nephews.

His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday October 5, 2002 at 1:00 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 126 MacArthur Drive, New Bedford, MA 02740.
