BERLIN-Jeanne (Garrein) Olson, 89, of Berlin, formerly of West Boylston, and Clinton, died December 14 after a brief illness. Her husband, Helmer Olson, died in 1983. She leaves a son, Allan, and his wife Cheryl Olson of West Boylston; a daughter, Norma, and her husband Richard Pierce of Boylston; a grandson, Todd, and his wife Mary and their sons Joseph, Patrick, and Benjamin Pierce of Clinton; a grandson, Eric, and his wife Michelle and sons, Tyler and Elijah Olson of ME; a granddaughter, Kimberly Pierce, of NH.
Born in Plymouth August 6, 1917 daughter of Victor and Blanche (Picavet) Garrein, she graduated from Becker College and worked as a bookkeeper for Town Talk Bakery in Worcester. Jeanne was a member of the First Congregational Church in Clinton, the Senior Citizens of Berlin and West Boylston, mothers’ circles of the former Wachusett Chapter Order of DeMolay and Clinton Assembly #99 IORG. A very special mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Jeanne “Nonnie” Olson devoted her life to her family and they loved her dearly. She was a caring, kind, friend to many and an unselfish benefactor to any and all those who needed her help.
A funeral service will be Monday, December 18 at 1:00 PM in FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St., W. Boylston. Interment will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
