Ferdinand Zecha, Jr., 81 of Derry, NH died Wednesday December 13, 2006 in Haven Healthcare Center, Derry. Mr. Zecha was born in Keene, NH on June 26, 1925 a son of the late Ferdinand and Gertrude (Barnes) Zecha, Sr. He had resided in Derry since 1965, formerly living in Quincy, MA. He was a US Army veteran having served during WWII. He retired from B & M Rail Road in Nashua where he worked as a foreman for 32 years. While living at the nursing home the past two years he enjoyed playing bingo and attended all the social activities.
He is survived by three daughters, Gail Boisvert and her companion Emmett Martin of Londonderry, NH, Donna Stuck and her husband Bruce of Haverhill, MA, Faith Boisvert of Manchester, one son, Carl Zecha and his wife Christina of Derry, seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, one sister, Evelyn Makin of Virginia. In 1987, he was predeceased by his wife, Viola B. (Ladd) Zecha and by his son, Ferdinand Zecha.
Funeral services were held on Monday December 18, 2006 at 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. Calling hours were held Sunday from 2 – 4pm in the funeral home.
