Obituary

Theodore Troupe, 80, of Enigma, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2006, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Luther Walker will officiate with burial to follow in Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Troupe, Austin Dixon, Tony Paulk, Charles Walker, Richard Holley, Waymon Shrouder and Craig Dixon. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Holley, Carl Harris, Johnny Troupe and Benjamin Troupe. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 14, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Troupe was born on May 25, 1926 in Berrien County and was the son of Leslie Troupe and Reanie Luke Troupe Brooks, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ellen Rowell Troupe; three brothers; three sisters; and one grandchild, Tammy Olive. He was retired from KO Company and of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Victory Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, a Good Conduct Medal, an Independence Ribbon, a Victory Ribbon, two overseas service bars and was rifle marksman.

Mr. Troupe is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Kathy Troupe of Tifton and Larry and Sara Troupe of Enigma; one daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Benny McCurdy of Ashburn; seven grandchildren, Phuong Troupe, Thanh Troupe, Sheila Harris, Wanda Roberts, Kevin Tripp, Jason Troupe and Martha Dixon; six great grandsons and two great granddaughters.
