Marguerite “Marge” (Braman) Nelson, 80, of Mansfield died on Monday December 11, 2006 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold D. Nelson to whom she was wed to for 47 years at the time of his death on August 5, 1994.
Born in Attleboro, MA on January 24, 1926 she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Mae Braman.
She grew up in Attleboro and was educated in Attleboro schools. Mrs. Nelson was a retired secretary having worked in the Mansfield High School Guidance Department for 24 years before retiring in 1984. She truly enjoyed working at the high school was honored by having a class year book dedicated to her memory for her many faithful years of service.
She was a member of the Faith Fellowship United Methodist Church in Mansfield.
Marge was a member of the Mansfield Council on Aging where she enjoyed playing cribbage with her friends. Her hobbies included Quilting, Knitting, Reading and doing Cross Word Puzzles.
She and her late husband Harold had enjoyed traveling and spent a lot of time visiting different parts of this country, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Canada and Europe. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past 59 years and was formerly of Attleboro.
She is survived by 1 son Ronald A. Nelson of Williamsburg, Virginia and 1 granddaughter Krista Marie Nelson of Leominster, MA.
Private funeral services will be held on Thursday December 14th at a time convenient to her family at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral home in Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
