Obituary

WORCESTER__ Dorothy A. “Dottie” Zalieckas, 68, of Worcester, died on Sunday, December 10 in Christopher House, 10 Mary Scano Drive.

She leaves a brother, Joseph Zalieckas of Spencer and three sisters, Ann Frederico, Julia Guertin and Mary Reeves all of Millbury; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Dottie was born in Worcester, daughter of John and Mary (Zuromsky) Zalieckas and lived here all her life.

Ms. Zalieckas was an executive secretary at Wyman Gordon Co., North Grafton for many years prior to her retirement. She was also a banquet manager at Maironis Park in Shrewsbury. She was graduated from the High School of Commerce, Worcester and was a member of St. Casimir Church. Dottie was also a member of the Knights of Lithuania, Council 26, the Lithuanian Charitable Society of Maironis Park, the Lithuanian American Roman Catholic Women’s Alliance and the Guild of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, Putnam, CT. She also volunteered at the Worcester Senior Center. Dottie loved her many nieces and nephews and growing with them through their lives.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 13, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 12:00 NOON in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, December 12, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Members of the Knights of Lithuania will gather at 6:00 p.m. during calling hours to conduct their ritual. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St., Worcester, MA 01604 or the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, 600 Liberty Highway, Putnam, CT 06260 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
