David E.M. Henry, 89, of 15 East Shore Avenue, Groton Long Point, passed away Friday evening at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Henry was born in Brooklyn, NY on Ju7ne 15, 1917 the son of John Adams Henry and Mary B. (Matheson) Henry. He was a 1936 graduate of Port Richmond High School.
After receiving his education, he served in the US Coast Guard before being honorably discharged in 1945.
A resident of Groton Long Point since 1988, he was employed for the Town of Groton Police Dept. as a crossing guard in Noank for over 20 years. A former resident of Staten Island, NY, he was a member of the Beacon Light Lodge Masonic Lodge # 701.
He was married to Gladys E. Kuhhorn Henry at Staten Island on April 1, 1944. Mrs. Henry died January 26, 1996.
Mr. Henry is survived by his daughter, Barbara J. Perina of Groton Long Point, 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Herbert Henry.
His family will gather privately for services. There are no visiting hours.
