Obituary

Robert G. Amyouny, of Needham died peacefully Wed Dec 6, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 86.
Born and raised in Boston he graduated from Boston High School of Commerce and Boston University with a degree in Business & Accounting. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and also served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was discharged as a Captain. He worked as a CPA for Ernst & Ernst and later for many years for Prime Tanning of Berwick, ME. He was also active with the Tanning Council of America. He had lived in Needham since 1955 and was a Mason and had volunteered at Springwell Elder Services.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Louise (Pugliesi) Amyouny, his daughters Ann Marie Meurs and her husband Greg of Boone NC, Elaine Slowe and her husband William of Needham and Patricia Jo Gerrard and her husband Michael of Laguna Beach CA. He was the grandfather of Christopher Chambers, Kathleen Britton, William Slowe, Beth Gazeta, Nicole Craven M.D., Kristina Sheldon, Susan Levy, and Wendy Harmon and is also survived by his 10 great grandchildren. He was the brother of Anna McWhorter of No. Chelmsford, James Amyouny of Middleton and the late Joseph Amyouny and Florence Scott.
A funeral service will be held on Sat Dec 9, 2006 at 11 AM in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will follow at Needham Cemetery. Visiting hours will be in the funeral home on Fri from 4-8 PM.
