William Kenneth Holmes of 656 Colonel Ledyard Highway, passed away unexpectedly on September 30.
He was born on November 21 1950, the son of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (Panciera) Holmes.
Mr. Holmes was a life long resident of Ledyard and a 1969 graduate of Ledyard High School. He had worked for Electric Boat for the last 27 years in transportation and was also employed at Logitech, working at the State Pier.
He is survived by his wife Diania Jutila Holmes, a daughter Casey l. Holmes Barron of Salem,a sister Nancy Champlin of Ledyard, a nephew, Wayne Champlin and a niece, Erica Champlin both of Ledyard a grandson Bernardo William Barron and two stepchildren.
Mr. Holmes was an active member of the Ledyard Sportsmen’s Club.
Bill’s family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 6-8pm. His service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 10am. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
