Obituary

Mr. Jacob Jacobson, beloved husband of Armenhouie (Najarian) Jacobson, of Andover, died at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 25, 2006. He was 84 years old.
Mr. Jacobson was born on June 28, 1922, of Armenian decent, at the family home on Old River Road in Andover, Massachusetts, where he resided until he met his wife of 49 years, Armenhouie (Najarian) Jacobson. The couple resided only a short distance down the street from his birthplace in the home that they built. He was a 1940 graduate of Punchard High School in Andover and was a 26 years veteran of the Andover Police Department, retiring as Sergeant in 1981. Throughout his life, he also continued the family business where even up until the last few months of life could be seen on his John Deere plowing the field for new crops or growing plants in his greenhouses. Jacob spent most of his spare time with his grandchildren, recounting for all his life stories which were plentiful and usually humorous. He remained always abreast of current events and was never shy about writing or calling his representatives about things that just didn’t make sense to him. He died peacefully surrounded by his family, on Saturday evening, November 25, 2006, due to complications related to Congenital Heart Failure. He will be sadly missed by all that were touched by him. Besides his beloved wife, Armenhouie, Jacob is survived by two children; Thomas and Rosette, son-in-law; Parsek Nalbandian, grandchildren; Ross, Vanessa, Aram, Adrineh and Azniz. He is also survived by his two siblings, George and Rose and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service was celebrated in St. Vartanantz Armenian Church, 180 Old Westford Road, Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Wednesday, November 29, 2006. Many relatives and friends attended. Calling hours were in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 28, 2006, from 3 to 8 PM. Burial was in West Parish Garden Cemetery, Andover.
