FAIRHAVEN -- Iva A. (Larson) Israelson, age 104 years, died Friday, December 1, 2006, at Atria Assisted Living in Fairhaven after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Merle Israelson.
Born in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Effa Mays Larson. A high school and teacher's college graduate, she taught in a one room school house in Mayville, New York. Talented at handiwork she loved to sew for her grandchildren.
Mrs. Israelson was the sister of the late Albert Milton Larson and Laura Strobel and mother of the late Oleva A. Miller.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Jean Saulnier of New Bedford; her son, Alfred L. Carlson of Ocala, Fla.; her sisters, Edna Dillenback of Sun City Center, Fla., and Effa Zenns of St. Robert, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; 1 great great great grandchild; and 10 nieces and nephews.
