WEST BOYLSTON
Lt. Col. Nathaniel "Bud" A. Nash, 92, of Oakdale and Key West, FL died Wednesday, Nov. 28.
His wife, Ellen B. (Birchill) Nash died in 1997. He leaves two daughters, Niki and her husband Robert Armstrong of West Boylston and Maija and her husband Edmund Hibbard of Portsmouth, NH; five grandchildren, Dale Anderson, Penny Stanford, Melissa Verkade, Jeremy Mard and Jon Raymond; two great-grandsons, Jake and Samuel; his twin sister, Nancy Myers of Amherst and nieces and nephews. He was born in Brookfield, son of Maxham and Blanche (Foye) Nash and graduated from Framingham High School and attended the University of New Hampshire. He served in the Army during WWII and the Army Reserves.
Bud was the Postmaster for the Oakdale Post Office for many years, before retiring. He was a member of the Boylston Lodge of Masons, the West Boylston Conservation Committee, the West Boylston Water Commission, the Harold N. Keith American Legion Post #204, the Reserve Officers Assoc., and a life member of the 34th Infantry Division Assoc.
The funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Blanche Foye Nash Library Fund c/o UNH Foundation, UNH, Durham, NH 03824. FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St. is directing arrangements.
