Palm City, Florida and Hampton, NH - Alfred Naman, 91, and retired co-owner of Naman Pharmacal died Wednesday November 29, 2006 at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, Florida.
Born in Stamford, Connecticut Mr. Naman was a longtime resident of Lawrence and Andover. He was a graduate of Lawrence High school, and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy.
Alfred had been the co-owner of Naman Pharmacal of Lawrence founded by his father Issa Naman who also owned Naman’s Drug Store in Lawrence next to the high school.
He was a former member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Lawrence and a former board member at church.
During world war II he served his country in the United States Army prior to his honorable discharge at wars end.
Alfred was a former member of Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover and a former member of Portsmouth Country Club of NH.
While residing in Florida he was a member of Martin Downs Country Club in Palm City.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years; Jean (Maloof) Naman.
Children: Deborah J. & husband Paul C. Meyer of Chappaqua, NY & Rye, NH, son Alfred D. Naman of New York City, one sister Alma Naman of Portsmouth, NH, one brother Kenneth J. Naman of Hampton, NH, 3 grandchildren Laura, Stephen, and Catherine.
Funeral services took place on Saturday morning December 2, 2006 at 11 o’clock in St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Lawrence with burial in Central Cemetery in Rye, NH.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home,Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
