Obituary

Robert "Bob" B. Taylor, 88 of Londonderry, NH, died Friday, November 24, 2006 at his home under the care of his daughter, Elaine M. Taylor and fellow caregivers Bea, Robin, Maxine and Cindi. Mr. Taylor was born in Wilmington, MA on September 28, 1918, a son of the late Manning and Edna (Chandler) Taylor. He moved to Londonderry at a very young age, where he lived the rest of his life. Mr. Taylor had attended Pinkerton Academy. He worked for Railway Express in Nashua and later went on to become a Master Carpenter/Foreman while working for Turner Construction in Boston. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #33 for over 50 years. Mr. Taylor was very involved in the Londonderry community and had served as selectman during the 1950’s. He helped build the altar at St. Jude Church and was a member of the first volunteer fire department in Londonderry. He was also a licensed locksmith having a small locksmith shop in his home. In 1986 he retired to care for his ailing wife. During his retirement he also pursued his hobbies of clock making, woodworking and making stained glass items. Mr. Taylor had a number of fruit trees in his backyard, and sold the fruit in his neighborhood. He was a sports fan and enjoyed animals, especially his dogs. Once he became ill the Easter Seal Adult Day Program became a major part of his life and he was fortunate to appear on their brochure and to meet a number of celebrities.

He is survived by three children, Beverly Ann Taylor of Manchester, NH, Robert P. Taylor of Stanley, ND, Elaine M. Taylor of Manchester, three grandchildren, Dr. Robert A. Taylor and his wife Karen, Tyler Taylor and Ashley Taylor, two great-grandchildren, Joseph and John Taylor, a brother, Richard Taylor of Londonderry, and also by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice L. (Shea) Taylor in 1991, two sisters, Esther Taylor, Pauline Walker and two brothers, Harold Taylor and Wendell Taylor.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 1:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Visiting was held Tuesday from 12:00pm until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial followed in Pleasant View Cemetery, Londonderry.
