Ruth E. (Shea) Tarpy, a resident of Woburn since 1966, passed away quietly on Tuesday morning, November 21, at the Lexington Health Care Center in Lexington, following a extended illness. The beloved wife of Robert E. Tarpy of Woburn, she was seventy-four years of age.
Born in Cambridge she was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Mabel C. (Dwyer) Shea.
Raised and educated in Cambridge she attended St. Peters School and graduated from Cambridge High Latin and continued her education at Chamberlin School of Business.
She worked for several years as a secretary in the Insurance Industry and later met and married Robert and settled in Woburn where she was devoted to raising her four boys. She admired and loved her four grandchildren and enjoyed being with them.
Surviving in addition to her husband Robert are her sons Richard of Woburn, Dr. Stephen and his wife Cheryl of Milton, Dr, Robert and his wife Michele of Woburn, and Paul also of Woburn. Also her four loving grandchildren Lauren, Lindsey, Alyssa and Stephanie. One Sister Doris Ryan of Longmeadow.
Her funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn on Saturday, November 25, at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celbrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. Woburn at 9. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
