Louise R. Lipps
...former cook at St. Francis Assisi and St. Roberts Bellarmine; 78
TEWKSBURY - Louise R. Lipps, age 78, a retired cook for the Archdiocese of Boston, died
Sunday evening, Nov. 19, at the Winchester Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of
Linwood G. “Lindy” Lipps, with whom she had celebrated a 56th wedding anniversary this past
June 18th.
She was born in Waltham, September 4, 1928, one of twelve children of Charles and Annie
(Benceivenga) Evangelista, and was raised in Waltham. She had lived in Tewksbury for the past
48 years.
She retired three years ago from kitchen staff of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Andover, and had
previously worked at St. Francis Assisi Parish in Medford.
She was described by her husband as having devoted her life to her family and her church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Stephen Lipps of Haverhill, James Lipps and
his fiancé, Debra King both of Middleboro, David Lipps of Tewksbury; a son-in-law, Roger
Chagnon of Dracut; eight grandchildren, Kerry Flipse of Tewksbury, Stephen Lipps of PA, Daniel
Carbone of Dracut, Corinne Weaver of Concord, NH, David Lipps of Saugus, Christopher Lipps
of Manchester, NH, Benjamin Chagnon and Victoria Lamn both of Dracut; three great
grandchildren, Dominic, Daniel, and Riley; two sisters, Rose Howard of Marshfield and Theresa
Heery of VA; a brother, Florenzo Evangelista of Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also mother of the late Linda Chagnon, and sister of the late Ida Evangelista, Gilda
Norcia, Mildred Clark, Mary LeBlanc, Victoria Welch, Constantino Evangelista, Ugo
Evangelista, and Benedict Evangelista.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Nov. 25, in St. Dorothy’s Church, Wilmington, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
