A lifelong member of the Chelsea family, Barbara, at 63 years of age, passed away at the Youville Hospital in Cambridge after a long illness.
After working at American Optical on Beacham Street until it closed, she took a job as an administrative assistant for the MWRA, a position she held until she retired in 2003.
Barbara loved bowling and the Boston Red Sox and was overjoyed with their World Series win. In her younger days, Barbara was a great caregiver to both her family and her friends, especially her nieces and nephews, always there with her love and an extended hand. She was most fond of her cats, her own or homeless ones. They brought her joy and comfort, asking nothing in return. A loving and caring person, she will be missed by all.
