Obituary

Methuen, MA – Robert B. Taplin, 90, died Thursday at Nevins Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre.
Born in Lawrence Mr. Taplin had been a longtime Methuen resident.
He had been employed for 33 years with the New England Telephone & Telegraph Company before his retirement.

Robert was a trustee & former member of the First Methodist Church in Methuen. During World War II he served his country in the United States Army before being honorably discharged at wars end. Mr. Taplin was a member of John Hancock A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge in Methuen, the Scottish Rites Bodies, Lodge of Perfection & Zion Council, Princes of Jerusalem, Mount Calvary Chapter Rose Croix of Lowell, Massachusetts Consistory A.A.R.S. of Boston, Bektash Shrine of New Hampshire, the Methuen Post # 122 American Legion, and the American Pioneers of America.

Robert is survived by his wife of 65 years; Helen M. (Wisniewski) Taplin, children Charlotte R. & husband Alvin Huebner of Salem, NH, son Robert B., Jr. & wife Sheila Taplin of Pelham, NH, and Diane L. & husband Gerald A. Morse of Beverly, MA, 7 grandchildren Stephen, Mark, & David Huebner, Susan Bellomo, Greg & Kenneth Taplin, & Gerald A. Morse, Jr. 4 greatgrandchildren & several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 P.M. & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bektash Shrine 189 Pembroke Road Concord, NH, 03301.
Masonic services will take place on Monday evening 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
