Dorothy W. Burgess
...retired from RCA in Burlington; 88
TEWKSBURY - Dorothy W. (King) Burgess, age 88, an active member of Tewksbury Senior
community, died Thursday morning, Nov. 16, at the Life Care Center in Billerica. She was the
wife of Chester E. Burgess, who died in 1974.
She was born in Everett, on January 4, 1918, a daughter of the late Fred and Alice (Young) King.
She was raised in Wilmington, but had been a resident of Tewksbury the greater part of her life.
She had also lived in Yarmouth for ten years.
She was employed in the inspection services department for R.C.A.’s Aerospace Division in
Burlington until her retirement.
She was a long term resident of the Carnation Drive senior housing for many years, and became
involved in many senior activities as a member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club, the Sunshine
Club of Carnation Drive, and a frequent visitor and traveler with the Tewksbury Senior
community.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chester E. Burgess Jr. and his wife Anne Marie
(Littlefield) of Tewksbury; one sister, Brenda (King) McBride of Gilmanton, NH; two
grandchildren, Diane Casazza of Billerica and Leanne DeCosta of Tewksbury; four great
grandchildren; Stephen, Katie, John Michael, and Kristen, and several nieces and nephews,
including her niece Jean Devlin of Wilmington, who was a special friend to her.

Her funeral was held Monday, Nov. 20, in the Funeral Home. Burialwas in at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Affinity Hospice for Life, 121 Middlesex Tpk.,
Burlington, MA 01803 will be appreciated.
