Mr. Wendell S. “Bill” Thomas, 69, of 124 Norway Street, Berlin, NH passed away on Friday November 10, 2006 at his home. He was born in North Stratford, New Hampshire on November 6, 1937 the son of Edwin and Eldena (Heath) Thomas and lived in Berlin for most of his life. He attended schools in Berlin. Bill had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Berlin Public Works Department for 34 years, retiring in 2001. His greatest enjoyment was his family, his camp at Lakeside and The Depot. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a US Army Veteran and a long time member of the Army National Guard.
Members of the family include his wife Rosalie (Nelson) Thomas of Berlin, NH; 3 sons Shawn Thomas and wife Tammy of Berlin, NH, Eric Thomas and his wife Laura Lee Tardiff of Berlin, NH and Stephen Thomas and his wife Gail of Dummer, NH; 2 daughters Heidi Dube of Stark, NH and Cathy Thomas of Colebrook, NH; 12 grandchildren Nicholas Essman, Emily Gagnon, Stacey Farrell, Georgia Tardiff ,Bruce Tardiff, Brianna Tardiff, Taylor Thomas, Kali Thomas, Zeb Thomas, Michael Dube, Matthew Dube and Joshua Dube; 1 great-granddaughter Alexa Gagnon; 4 brothers Charles Thomas of Sanford, ME, Earl Thomas of Berlin, NH, Harold Thomas of Berlin, NH and Robert Thomas of Berlin, NH; 2 sisters Mrs. Mildred Tupick of Berlin, NH and Mrs. Edna Stranger of Berlin, NH; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sisters Ruth O’Hara and Doris Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 14, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the Russian City Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
