Wanda M.(Davis) Anderson, 75, of Norton died on Wednesday November 8, 2006 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond W. Anderson to whom she was wed to on July 1, 1949 and who died on January 8, 2006.
Born in Albany, Vermont on February 8, 1931 she was a loving daughter of the late Irving and Ila (Baird) Davis.
Educated in Norton schools she was a 1949 graduate of Norton High School. Mrs. Anderson had worked as a Clerk for the Board of Assessor’s Office in Norton for several years before retiring. She had formerly worked at Kilburn Glass in Norton and at the former Fairfield Optical Co. in Mansfield.
Wanda was an active member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton where she was a member of the Whatsoever Club and the Lunch Bunch. For many years she would make crafts to be sold at the church fairs.
Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, gardening and bird watching. She loved being with her family and also enjoyed her family’s passion for antique cars. She had lived in Norton for the past 68 years.
She is survived by her devoted children; Rory W. Anderson of Taunton, Dale C. O’Neal and her husband Dennis of Norton, Neal R. Anderson and his wife Susan of Attleboro and Eric L. Anderson of Norton. Her dear sister and brothers; Arlene L. Bates of Vermont, Elwood R. Davis of Attleboro, Anson Davis of Conn. and the late Carlton B. Davis and Robert I. Davis. Her loving grandchildren Katlyn O’Neal and Meagan O’Neal both of Norton, Devan Bassett of North Attleboro and Melissa Lynch and Julie Lynch both of Attleboro. Her great granddaughter Summer Lynne Rizzo. Her sister-in-laws Margaret Davis, Mary Davis, Claire Davis and Lois Anderson. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday November 13th at 11:00 A.M. at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, East Main and Pine Streets, Norton. Burial will follow in the Norton Common Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday November 12th from 3-6 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St.(Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
In lieu of flowers Wanda’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to either the Memorial Fund of the Trinitarian Congregational Church or to the Raymond and Wanda Anderson Clock Fund. Mailing address for both donations is P.O. Box 2068 Norton, MA 02766.
Following the services on Monday an invitation has been extended to all to join the Anderson family at their home for a time of refreshment and fellowship
