Obituary

Lawrence, MA – Roland W. Therrien, 82, died Tuesday November 7, 2006 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing & Restorative Center.

Born and educated in Methuen schools & Norwich, CT schools and also the Boston school of Mechanical Dentistry, he had been employed for 34 years as a manager with the Raytheon Co, of Waltham, MA.

During world war II Roland served his country in the U.S. Army with the 86th Infantry and was involved in battles in Central Europe. Before being honorably discharged Mr. Therrien was the recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon.

Prior to its closing Roland was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church of South Lawrence.
He was a member of the Arnold Greenwood Post # 8349 VFW of Methuen, the Lawrence Lodge of Elks # 65 B.P.O.E. and a member of the Methuen Rod & Gun Club.
A resident of Lawrence since 1946 he is survived by his wife of 60 years Eveline L. (Lacharite) Therrien, his son and daughter-inlaw Donald W. & wife Sheila M. Therrien of Andover, 1 sister Dorothy Renouf of CT, 1 brother Donald Therrien of Nevada, 1 grandson Christopher D. Therrien of Brookline, MA and many nieces and nephews.

Roland is predeceased by his sister Doris Myers.

A Funeral mass will take place on Friday morning at 9 o’clock in St. Augustines Church in Andover with entombment to follow in St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Lawrence.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
