Albert E. "Sonny" Andrews, Jr., 69 of 170 Paxton Rd., died Tuesday,
November 6 at his home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Nancy A. (Harris) Andrews, six daughters;
Debbie J. Crane and her husband Marshall of Hubbardston, Donna A. Cutler and
her husband Bruce of Spencer, Darlene C. Meisner and her husband Doug of
Statesville, No. Carolina, Dale N. Davies and her husband Willie of Spencer,
Denise H. Orton of Spencer, Diana L. Brown and her husband Harry of East
Brookfield, his mother, Florence C. (Harvey) Andrews of Spencer, a brother
Rev. Douglas H. Andrews of N.H., a sister, Linda C. Cook of Plymouth, 14
grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a sister, Joyce Andrews and his father Albert E.
Andrews, Sr. who died in 2005.
Mr. Andrews was born in Worcester and was a life long resident of Spencer
where he was a dairy farmer for 55 years and owned and operated Andrews
Farm.
He was a charter member of the Spencer Snow Birds Snowmobile Club, a 4H
Dairy Club member and Tractor Club Leader, former two term President of the
Spencer Agricultural Association, Worcester County Soil Conservation
Commission and a past president, former member of the Farm Bureau, he was on
the board of directors of the Farmers Home Administration, a former
Merchants Basketball Team Coach and sponsor and a longtime school bus driver
for McCarthy School Bus/Atlantic Express.
A funeral service will be held Friday, November 10 at 12:30 p.m. in the
First Congregational Church, 205 Main St., Spencer. Calling hours will be
Thursday from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Grove
Cemetery, Spencer. Please omit all flowers. At the families request
donations are preferred to 4H Teen Club, Attn: Dale Davies, 158 Paxton Rd.,
Spencer, MA. 01562 or to the Overlook VNA Hospice, Davenport 2, 88 Masonic
