Tori Holbrook, 85, of Allenstown, NH, died Friday, November 3, 2006 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry, NH. Mrs. Holbrook was born in Chiba-shi, Japan on April 4, 1921, a daughter of the late Inokichi and Matsu Tobe. She was a recent resident of Allenstown, formerly living many years in Derry, where she brought up her family, and Londonderry, NH. Mrs. Holbrook came to the United States from Japan in 1953. She had worked as an assembler for Hadco Printed Circuits in Derry. She was devoted to her family, her home and her animals, especially the homeless animals she cared for. Earlier in her retirement she enjoyed being a flea market entrepreneur.
She is survived by two sons, Lloyd Holbrook of Allenstown, Victor Holbrook of Manchester, NH, three daughters, Christeen Devine of Derry, Tory Simpson of Manchester, Wendy Courtney of Kissimmee, FL and also seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Vinton A. Holbrook in 1983.
There were no calling hours. Following cremation a funeral service was held on Monday, November 6, 2006 at 10:00am in Peabody Fuenral Homes and Crematorium. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, Hampstead Rd., E. Derry. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Friends of the Manchester Animal Shelter, PO Box 393, Manchester, NH 03105.
