Beverly: Margaret Cecile (Jalbert) Viel, age 85 of Beverly, died at Essex Park Rehab and Nursing Center in Beverly on Thursday, November 2, 2006, surrounded by her family. At her side was her husband Raymond J. Viel, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.
Born in Beverly and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Regina (Ouellette) Jalbert. As a young woman, she first worked for the former CBS Hytron of Danvers. She retired from Unitrode in 1979 with over 15 years with the company. A former resident of Salem, she and her husband have made their home in Beverly for the past 40 years.
Prior to her illness, Margaret and her husband wintered in Bushnell Florida for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Barbara C. Chouinard and her husband Leo of Beverly, 2 sons: Paul G. Viel of Salem & Robert R. Viel, USAF, M Sgt / Westover AFB and his wife Donna of Chicoppee, a daughter-in-law Linda Viel of Salem, a sister Yvonne Morin of New Hampshire, 5 grandchildren: Roger L. & Michael P. Chouinard, Danielle Viel, Matthew P.Viel and Robert R. Viel, Jr. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers: Raymond & Gerard Jalbert and a sister, Pauline Dupuis.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Monday, November 6, 2006, at 8 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] followed by her funeral mass in Ste.
