NEW BEDFORD — George R. King, age 81 years, of New Bedford, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Snowie Marsh King.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Manuel and Conceicao (Rogers) King and lived in this community all of his life.
A former member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Fairhaven, he was formerly employed by Cornell Dubilier and Columbia Manufacturing. A 32nd degree mason, he was a member of the Paskamansett Masonic Lodge A.F. and A.M., and was honored with the award of "handicap worker of the year" in 1978.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Marc G. King of New Bedford; a brother, Albert King of New Bedford; nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Anthony King.
His service will take place on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at 11 A.M., in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford with burial in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven
