FALL RIVER … Mahar “Minnie” (Shahdan) Joseph, 93, of 4901 North Main Street, died Monday, October 30, 2006 after a brief illness.
She was the widow of George F. Joseph.
She was born in Fall River a daughter of the late Sahead and Miriam (Charbel) Shahdan and had been a life long resident of this city.
She died at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center, Fall River.
She was a communicant of Holy Name Church, Hanover Street, Fall River.
She was formerly employed by Verizon, (New England Telephone at the time) as an operator for 10 years. She was also the owner and operator of Joseph’s Variety on the corner of Coggshall and Warren Streets for 27 years.
Mrs. Joseph enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Marie Elizabeth Crompton of Mystic, CT and Georgia Ann Stark of Fall River, a son-in-law C. Robert Stark of Fall River, a sister: Sophia Constance Hadad of Fall River, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Peter and Kaiser Shahdan, and Marie Hannah McPadden.
