Mrs. Masefield died Monday evening at the Goddard Rehabilitation Center after a period of failing health. Born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late Alfred and Diana (Cote) Lavigne. She had been a life long resident of the city. Mrs. Masefield was a homemaker who stayed home to raise her family. Member of the Ladies Bridge Club. She enjoyed bingo, knitting, crocheting and golfing. She was a longtime communicant of St. Colman Church.
She is survived by a daughter Carol Anne George of Brockton, 2 sons, Robert G. Masefield and his wife Christine of W. Bridgewaterand John E. Masefield and his wife Virginia of Hanson. A brother John E. Lavigne of Taunton, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the wife of the late George T. Masefield and sister of thelate Louise McCavitt, Raymond and Alfred Lavigne.
