Salem, New Hampshire – Mary B. (Collins) Zaccari, 90, died Saturday October 28, 2006 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Waltham, MA, she attended and graduated from Lawrence grammar schools and was a graduate of the Edward F. Searles High School in Methuen.
For 15 years Mary had been employed with the Town of Methuen working in the Methuen Welfare Department, and for 25 years was employed as the Administrative Assistant with the Greater Lawrence Sanitary District prior to her retirement.
An active and longtime communicant of Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen, Mrs. Zaccari was a member of Saint Monica’s Ladies Sodality.
Mary was a member of the Bon Secours Womens Guild, and according to her family was a very good cook who also enjoyed sewing. According to her husband Joe, she taught her family wonderful values.
A longtime resident of Methuen she is survived by her husband of 66 years; Joseph J. Zaccari of Methuen, 2 daughters Elaine & husband William Haddad of North Andover, Ann Z. & her husband Robert More of Vienna, VA, 1 sister Janet Kenney of Methuen, 1 brother Alfred Collins of Salem, NH, 4 grandchildren Julie Haddad, of Arlington, Alyssa Haddad of Stanford, CT, John More of Reston, VA, and Catherine More of Charlottesville, VA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will take place on Thursday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church of Methuen with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
