Robert M. Eakes, 61, of Derry, NH died Sunday, October 29, 2006 in Parkland Medical Center, Derry following a sudden illness. He was born In Durango, CO on June 27, 1945, the son of Robert M. and Elizabeth (Reaves) Eakes, Sr. He lived most of his childhood in Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a master’s degree in sociology. He has resided in Derry since last March and had previously lived in Manchester for several years. Robert served as a Vista volunteer for a year in South Dakota prior to moving to southern New Hampshire. He was employed at the Moore Center in Manchester as a transportation coordinator. He later entered the sales field as an associate at Ritz Camera and for the past three years in the Manchester Home Depot store. He had a passion for reading and discussing politics, philosophy and history with his many friends.
He is survived by a brother James Eakes of Tucson, AZ and his companion, Elaine (Apostolos) Eakes of Derry.
There are no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
