LAKEVILLE -- Harry Jackson, age 92 years, of Lakeville and, formerly of New Bedford and Fairhaven, died on Saturday, October 14, 2006, at Island Terrace Nursing Home in Lakeville after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Mary (Reid) Jackson.
A lifelong area resident, he was a high school graduate and took courses of instruction to become a registered pharmacist. From 1932-1979, he was employed by the Browne Pharmacy Inc., in downtown New Bedford as manager and occasionally on duty at the various branches of the well known pharmacy. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Druggist Association.
A longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church in New Bedford, he was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
He is survived by his son Russell Jackson of Lakeville; his daughters, Susan Arvisais of New Bedford and Deborah Johnson of Columbia, Maryland; and four grandchildren, Kristen and Nicole Johnson, Philip Arvisais and Ranulph Jackson.
His memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 2 P.M. in Seamen's Bethel on Johnny, Cake Hill in New Bedford. Remembrances may be made in his name to Grace Episcopal Church Sunday School, 133 School St. New Bedford, Ma. 02740.
