Lawrence M. Vareika, 82, died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Friday, October 27. He was the son of the late Michael and Annie M. (White) Vareika. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Boston English High School and attended Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. Mr. Vareika was an U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a waiter in New Orleans, LA for many years. He was a resident of Stoughton for over 20 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 1645 in Stoughton.
Mr. Vareika was the brother of William E. Vareika of Raynham, Virginia Zagami of Roslindale, Lorraine Barbone of Walpole and the late Dolores Mason-Smith and Gerald F. Vareika. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, November 1 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 9-10 AM.
