Sandra L. McAdam, 59, of 73 Academy St. died September 16, 2002, in the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. She was born in Springvale, Maine, on October 17, 1942, the daughter of Raymond and Marion (King) Lessard.
After spending her early childhood in Springvale, she moved to Dover, NH, and graduated from Dover High School in 1960. She has lived in Laconia for most of the past 36 years and spent several years in Sunapee, NH, and Biddeford, Maine, during that time.
Whittemore’s Flower Shop employed Mrs. McAdam for more than six years. Previously she was employed at the Laconia City Library.
Her concern for the environment led her to a lifelong passion for gardening. She devoted time to nurturing flowers and transplant oak trees.
Family members include her husband of 41 years, Paul E. McAdam of Laconia; three sons, Paul E. McAdam Jr. of London, England, Todd R. McAdam of Cortlandville NY and Kyle J. McAdam of Center Harbor NH; her parents, Raymond & Marion Lessard of Shapleigh ME; two grandchildren, Dylan Patrick McAdam and Halle Sean McAdam, both of Lakeport; two sisters, Karen Towle of Madbury NH and Brenda Armstrong of Tenants Harbor, ME; nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two infant children, Brett McAdam in 1963 and Erin McAdam in 1968.
. A Memorial Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St., Laconia on Friday at 11 AM. Rev. Gary J. Kosmowski, Pastor was the celebrant. Private urn burial will be at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to: NH Chapter Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, PO Box 3194, Nashua NH 03061.
