Obituary

Robert J.”Bob” Clasby, 76, died Wednesday October 25th in the Western MA Hospital in Westfield, Ma., surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Marie(Cusick)Clasby.

Born in Boston he was the son of the late Peter and Ethel (Kelly) Clasby.

He was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School and a veteran of the United States Navy.

He resided in Dorchester and Randolph, before moving to Whitman where he was a resident for 35 years.

Bob worked at the former Rust Craft Greeting Company in Dedham, as a printing supervisor for over 35 years.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, he is survived by a son and daughter, Robert J. Clasby Jr. and his wife Ramona of Cohoes NY. and Ann Marrese and her husband Ted of Brockton; 4 brothers, Donald Clasby of Fl, William and James Clasby of Holbrook and Peter Clasby of Whitman; his 3 sisters; Marie Iacoviello of Melrose, Patricia Ford of Holbrook and Barbara MacNeil of Whitman, 2 grandsons; Sean and Bryan Galligan, 1 step granddaughter; Gena Marrese and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Francis and John Clasby.


His funeral will be held from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman on Monday October 30th at 9:15 A.M., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman, MA. Burial will follow in the MASS.VA National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 P.M. Visiting hours Sunday October 29th 4-7 P.M. Donations may be made in his name to the Western Mass Hospital (North III) 91 East Mountain Road, Westfield, MA 01085
