
PLYMOUTH- Harold W. “Sonny” Pierce, 65, of Plymouth, formerly of Brockton and Middleboro, died suddenly Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at New England Medical Center in Boston. He was the companion of Carole Holmes of Plymouth.
Born in Middleboro, he was the son of the late Harold and Inez E. (Morris) Pierce.
Mr. Pierce grew up in Middleboro and attended Middleboro schools.
He was retired from the Mass Dept. of Corrections, formerly working at MCI Norfolk. He most recently worked at Bagnell Auto Supply in Hanover for 10 years.
Mr. Pierce lived in Plymouth for the past 10 years, coming from Brockton, where he lived for 25 years.
He was an avid fisherman and sports fan.
In addition to his companion Carole, he is survived by his children, Steven H. Pierce of East Bridgewater, Ronald G. Pierce, Harold W. Pierce Jr., and John W. Pierce, all of Brockton; he was the brother of John Cayton of Carver, Donald Pierce of Middleboro, Betty Howes of Berkley, Donna Marshall of Maine, Inez Marshall of Lakeville and the late Gladys Pruitt. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held in Wales-Prophett Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, Wednesday at 10 am. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-8 pm.
